Balau (Yellow) also known as Selengan Batu or Bangkirai comes out of SE.Asia, it has a straw color and is extremely dense and durable. It contains toxins that limit insects eating it and it is high in resins and oils which naturally repels water and limits rot. Balau (Yellow) has been the go to hardwood for external timber decking and structures since the early nineties and was first used in the Cape Town Waterfront for decking, stair treads, lamp posts and other structures.
Balau (Yellow ) is available in the following dimensions;
Thickness – 25mm, 38mm, 50mm, 76mm, 102mm, 152mm
Width – 102mm, 114mm , 152mm, 228mm and 304mm
Thes can all be machined to standard par or specified dimensions.
Balau is also available in decking – 19mm x 90mm and 19mm x 140mm
Lengths available 2.4m – 6.0m
